We Are The Champions.

So this is my first blog of 2012, I’m talking about the Olympics and I make no apologies for this. I love it. The Olympics is a fantastic opportunity for people to come together and be inspired. It’s an even more incredible time for children – there’s just so much going on in schools all over the country and rightly so! We’re very proud to be a tiny part of the build up in our partner schools writing anthems that children can sing as they prepare for the games and beyond.

At NTF tomorrow sees the start of our world’s first songwriting marathon and I’m pretty excited to say the least. Indeed, between now and the Olympics we’re looking to work directly with around 3000 young people in London schools and as a result our messages will be heard by a minimum of 30,000 young people. We’re using the latest technology to capture some wonderful performances from the children we meet and create around 100 brand new songs before the Olympic opening ceremony. We’re also going to be running songwriting workshops in the summer holidays in the run up to the Paralympic Games.

You can follow our progress on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and in this blog but the real magic from the workshops will be captured and shared via our Soundcloud page where you’ll be able to hear all the songs, listen to feedback and even follow our progress on google maps.

If you want to get involved in the work of NTFoundation – The world’s number 1 songwriting charity, then get in touch – you are more than welcome. Follow the links on our website – we’d love to hear from you.

Happy New Year!
