What is Project K?
Primary schools in the Cardiff/Penarth area will benefit from a fully funded Songwriting Charity project entitled ‘Project K.’ Project K is a tribute to Kate Johnson, the sister of our CEO, Nathan Timothy, who sadly passed away in July 2012 after a short illness.
The project will consist of 10 ‘Master Peace’ one song, one day workshops in 10 different Primary Schools and will culminate in a celebratory event in Cardiff towards the end of the summer term. Approximately 300 children will take part in the workshops.
Each workshop will be filmed in HD and the finished documentaries will be shown as a backdrop to the final performances of all songs.
Parents, carers, family and friends will be able to purchase tickets to the event. All proceeds will go towards further Songwriting Charity Workshops in the Cardiff/Penarth area. It is our hope Project K will live on and eventually benefit ALL children and young people across Wales.
Initial funding for this project has been raised by the Project K team taking part in the 3 Peaks Challenge in May 2013 and also from a number of key sponsors and partners. We have also been actively fundraising using micro-donation website, Ploink. You can make a donation towards Project K on Nathan’s Three Peaks Fundraiser Page.
At the end of the project, we will hold celebratory event featuring the songs written and recorded by the children being performed for parents, teachers, and honoured guests. All children that take part will receive a limited edition Songwriting Charity badge and certificate of achievement.
We are actively looking for sponsors and in-kind support, and if you are interested in supporting Project K now and in the future, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss how you would like to get involved.
